University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Named Among Nation’s Best Hospitals
University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center has been recognized as a Best Hospital for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report. UH Cleveland Medical Center ranked in seven of 12 adult specialties. It is ranked third among all hospitals in Ohio.

UH Cleveland Medical Center ranked in the Top 50 nationally in:
- Cancer (37)
- Cardiology & Heart Surgery (28)
- Ear, Nose & Throat (46)
- Gastroenterology & GI surgery (39)
- Nephrology (25)
- Neurology & Neurosurgery (35)
- Urology (26)
Additionally, its Geriatrics and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery specialties were designated as high performing. U.S. News also named UH Cleveland Medical Center as high-performing for nine common adult procedures and conditions.

For the 2020-21 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 16 specialties and10 procedures and conditions. In the 16 specialty areas, 134 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized best regional hospitals based on high performing rankings across multiple areas of care.

Last month, U.S. News & World Report ranked UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital among America’s Best Children’s Hospitals in eight pediatric specialties, four of which rank in the top 25. UH Rainbow’s ranked medical and surgical specialties include orthopedics, pulmonology, diabetes & endocrinology, cancer, urology, neonatology, nephrology, and gastroenterology & GI surgery.
